How do you get it off. It drives me crazy. He drops the pellets in the water then eats em and it all over his beak-yuck! Niver mind the fact that I chage the water ever hour.

I just wipe it off with a rag or paper towel smile.gif Dodger makes the biggest mess with sweet potatoes LOL
I moved the water dish to the other side of the cage from the pellet dish..he dunks quite a bit less that way.too much work I guess to carry the pellet and climb over there at the same time tongue.gif

I just posted this for somebody else, lol. I like a water bottle myself. I am at work all day and can't change water all day that has food and poop etc. in it. I introduced a water bottle to Louie and he got the hang of it in 1 day. Now he takes his pellet, holds it against the tip of the bottle to get a drop on it and then eats it. Too funny.

As far as the dirty beak, I would think that most birds would wipe it on the perch after they are done. At least that's wat Louie does. You should see him eating his cooked Beak Appetit....I need to take a pictures the next time.....can't even see a beak. laugh.gif

Kiwi and Gidget both have a water bottle also, less mess and less worry of bacteria from yucky food...JMO.....I put GSE in the water which really helps. Kiwi gets a bite of food, touches his beak to his water bottle and seems to be fine since I have been doing this for almost 6 years....

Well maybe in a few months when he feels more at home. I'll chanfge it to a water bottle

I ahd a bad time with water bottles. When I had my nanday conure..she was using a water bottle when I brought her home from the ignorant pet store that had her(sorry issuea with them) I came home to find she had drained the bottle by playing with the ball..she kept doing it everytime I would re-fill it.She quickly went back to the bowl.

laugh.gif I am picturing this little quaker at the water bottle wetting his pellet.. too cute.

Beak Appetit is the funniest, stickiest food to see on a beak isn't it. laugh.gif

Yogi's beak disappears when he's tucking into his B.A lol
He actually cleans his beak on the cage bars after he's done hahahaha. Then I clean the cage bars for him blush.gif

Kiwi is a dunker too, almost every piece gets dunked, only recently she has had it stuck on her beak, but she cant stand it herself, she wipes her beak on the perch or cage bars right away.
