Jack wouldn't come out of the nest box last night. I kept a close eye on him. He did finally come out at 4 am this morning. He must have drank some water. Cause when I got in there he was sitting on the perch all puffed up and swaying his little head. I heard something hit the paper underneath their cage and all I saw was clear liquid. Looked back at him and water was coming out of his little mouth. I immediately got him out and put him in a glass aquiarium with a heating pad underneath. He has food, water, and fresh veggies in there. I did get him to take 2 bites of apple. Yeah! He is so sick though. I gave him his antibiotic this morning. I will call the vet as soon as they open. I am worried about him not eating and drinking.

Jill however, is still sitting on her eggs. She didn't like when we took him out too much. We did it really fast and covered him with a towel so that she couldn't see us get him. I am so scared! Gosh, and this isn't even one of my pets. How in the world can you love these little guys so much???? wub.gif Sorry getting all emotional on you.

Questions:

What is the right temp to have him at in the aquarium?
What is a quakers normal temp?
His Poops are just clear liquid with white liquid in the middle does anyone know what that means?

The rest of my babies seem fine.

Good news.......my cinnamon green laid her first egg this morning! She is such a sweetheart too.

Thanks so much for all of you guys help!!! It helps knowing that there are people like me that thrive for their FIDS.

Congrats on the cinnamon green egg! smile.gif

I can't really give you any advice since I haven't personally gone that that but birds have higher temps that humans and birds usually range from 37.7-43.5C, I know when Casey had her broken leg she was kept in an incubator to keep her warm since it they loose their heat really fast when they are trying to fight infection/sickness.

Good Luck, and hopefully someone else can give you some better advice!

"Many sick birds also require supplemental heat, as they are not thermoregulating properly. Keeping a sick bird in a cage with a controlled temperature and humidity is very important. Birds will do well in an incubator set at between 87-92 degrees F. Humidity should be over 75%."
--I just found this on this website... http://www.exoticpetvet.net/avian/avianer.html

But hopefully your at the vet now...
