My husband and I have adopted my daughter's quaker about 4 months ago. We have a scarlet macaw that is in different room
than PeeWee. Mt problem is that the quaker hates me! He bites and lunges at me, won't step up without drawing blood! He LOVES my husband though, and will let him pick him up anyway anytime! I've tried sitting next to cage talking quietly letting him come to me, but nothing seems to work. If anyone has any suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated. He is so different than my macaw. This quaker doesn't talk, he just screams alot. HELP!!

My Mr. Kiwi TOLERATES my Hubby. The only thing I can suggest is having your husband take him away from his cage to another unfamiliar room, such as the bathroom or another part of the living room and "rescue" the quaker. Keep doing this and in time he will "tolerate" you also. I can now give Kiwi to my Hubby without Hubby getting bit, but it takes Patience and repetition.
