I keep the cage in the living room. But his perch is in the kitchen-off the kitchen is the family room-so that he is close to us all day.

Buku would always fly off and come onto the love seat to be with us. Or If boy was on the floor playing fly down to him and herass him-my toys-no no no good boy. bad boy-good boy ha..Mommy help-go away boy(that was him talking not my son) LOL- he was my second child. My son keeps saying his brother is dead.Is rainbow bridge real and then is heaven real. So the bible state sad.gif Real sad

my birds own me hence they own my entire house there isnt one room they dont go in. When I am dining they are at the table with us when we are relaxing they are in the family room watching TV and sharing in the popcorn (If I dont offer they go over to the bowl and take it themselves) when I am cleaning the U2 follows me room to room pointing out clutter I have missed and trying to help me by shredding paper up.
When I drop something on the floor my sun conure is always quick to lead me to where it rolled off to which came in handy when I thought I had lost a bolt on something I was assembling the other day. My quaker hitchhikes a ride on my shoulder when he sees me going into my home office. He knows he gets special priveleges that way. I have gyms and cages all over my house and there are days where I def wonder where my privacy has went when I am soaking in my jacuzzi and one comes to perch near me to 'chat'. smile.gif

My cages are in btw the kitchen and the living room as they are co-joined. Thats where the light is the brightest and they can see me all the time b/c thats usually where I am in the combined area!

Isn't it not good to have the cages in the kitchen? I'm really worried about any fumes, especially since we have the no-no kind of oven (but you can't really replace those things... can you?) So I keep away from the kitchen and close a few doors in between whenever we're cooking. (Plus for me, that's where the killer pooches live, so out of the question anyway).

My fids all reside in my living room/sewing area. Not much room left for sewing anymore! blink.gif

I hope it not microwave pop corn-it has teflon in it.

OUr kitchen is open too.
Nancy and Bubba
Bubba likes the kitchen because it opens into the family room and he can see all. When I cook, I move him into the family room so there is no chance of falling into a pot of boiling water. He is also clipped, so he will not fly over to me when cooking. he sleeps in his own quiet dark bedroom, not in the kitchen. smile.gif

My quaker spends most his time in the living room.Although he does have a small table top perch for joining us at dinnertime in the kitchen smile.gif
The macaws however spend most of their time in the kitchen. They have two playstand..one in their room and one in the kitchen.85% of their day is spent on the playstand in the kitchen .
BradysMama
Brady's cage is in the living room and so is his play gym. My husband works nights..so having his cage in the bedroom is out of the question. He goes to bed around 8-9p and I just cover his cage. He never lets out a peep until around 10-11a (if I havent uncovered him by then ..and that's only on the weekends) then he starts saying ok..umm ..hello..people?? WAKE UP!!!
Quakermom
hahhaha mine live in the lving room and they have their main big cage in my bedroom. so their usually in the living room with the tv on and occasional music. so they got the whole surround sound system for them. I left them today wathcing 'HAPPY FEET' paulie loves the music bopping up and down..lol
keeper
jojo was in the living room he, but when he was out he would fly to the other cage in the computer room so we now have a computer/bird room. and pickles is in the bedroom he likes the big window hes in there only at bed time any other time he is in the living room.

Mine lives in the dining room next to the huge window and sliding glass door. don't worry, he doesn't get direct sunlight but he gets a pretty good view. I even put him outside on my patio when it's nice out smile.gif
fidsmom
All my 5 fids, are in the living room, their playgym is there too, when they are in bed, & i want to watch tv, i go upstairs in my bedroom, to watch it. They hang out, either in the living room, or the kitchen, But when im cooking, they are back in their cages.
Q and Miss D
mine has his own room because my youngest cat is too young to realize he would mess her up bad

I would think the kitchen is the worst spot... if you cool w/ teflon and forget about it for even a second it could spell a sure death. also if the stove is on and the bird can fly at all or even jump close enough ... well I don't need to say much more.

Georgie has number of places.

There is the sleeping cage which is in my bedroom. A teaching perch which is either in the kitchen or living room. And the castle which is either in the living room or Kitchen.

Right now the castle is in the kitchen because I was painting last week and wanted Georgie to be safe. I may leave her cage in the kitchen for a while because she gets quite a bit of sun there. In the living room, she doesn't get as much sun because the main window is a porch window.
