We got Pico last July so we don't know how QPs act during this time of year. He seems to have slept basically all day today, comfy-looking and fluffy with his head turned under his wing on TOP of his cage. He's not on the bottom or acting any differently, just more sleepy. We are leaving tomorrow and he's going to be staying with my in-laws for a week, so I just want to make sure he's not sick or something.

TIA!

I think I would get him checked out before you leave just in case. Sleeping alot with their head under the wing could mean it's sick.

Maybe it is just Kermit, but he rarely sleeps during the day. At least while we are home. He may quiet down during the mid day and just perch, but I have never caught him with his eyes closed. I would suggest seeing a vet as well.

I hope your Pico is okay. My Pico is very active during the day. I'm thinking of adding a middle name Pico Nipper.

Hi Pico!!
I have had mine for 17 years, and yes, they do for some reason sleep more now... My birdie sleeps during the day a lot now, but, I would still get him checked. Mine just closes his cute little gray eyelids for a little bit, but then wakes up and makes sure everyone knows it...LOL...
Make sure he is at least eating.....Give him his favorite treats and see if he eats them. But, a vet is always a good idea...
