I won a pvc playstand at our parrot club meeting, and decided to spice it up a bit for the boys.

Headed out to Home Depot today, and bought the necessary supplies to add a boing to it. Also added a toy bought from the dollarama.
The biggest problem was bird safe rope. Home Depot had NO cotton rope, so I went with sisal. Can't have my boys getting their little toes or nails caught.

For the stand, and toys it probably cost around $10 smile.gif

I have to make a few adjustments to the next one. I should have glued the rope, and put it into the cap right away. That would have kept the twist tighter. The taped ends won't be in the next one either. They would be destroyed pretty quick with a bigger bird heheh. Luckily my tiel isn't destructive.
Design flaws are what keep us humble I guess tongue.gif

Can you make a "boing"? I have been wondering about that... is it rope that is already bendable, or do you have to run a wire through it or something? I want to make a couple of them, but I had no idea if I could, or if I had to buy them.

Feeling a little slow today, lol.

Ain't that the truth!!!

I have three boings and two of them are very long (about 9 feet or so when stretched out). I got them both from a Seattle area pet store and only paid about 20 bucks US, which was a steal!!!! I'd be looking at around 50 bucks if I purchased them in Canada.

Boings and things like that are pretty easy to make...

Hot glue and a pvc end cap work great to keep them from untwisting...

Be creative!
