Ok, so both my birds come in the shower with me once a week. But after Tequila showers, the first thing she does is go and take a 'bath' in her water dish. It really doesn't count as a bath because she mostly just splashes water all over and doesn't get any on her, but why does she do this?? Do you think she is not getting enough time in the shower? Or is she just having fun playing in the water and being wet?? blink.gif

She is probably just having fun playing in the water or thinks her bath time isn't done yet and wants to finish it in her bowl. Kermit, my Quaker, does the same thing some times.

I bet she feels the need to go through the motions, behavior-wise, of taking a "regular" bath. Just listening to her inner bird.

Hm..that's interesting Ron. I guess that natural instinct is a pretty strong thing!

I think that is normal. I persoanlly think she just likes to splash. My sun conure will do that to. My buess is that she just likes water so much and can't get enough of it.

When I was a kid I would take a bath (my mother would clean me) and then she would leave me in the tub to splash around. I say this is what your fid is doing.

This was going to be my reply but UZ beat me to it. I mist my birds til they are drenched but they will still follow thie instincts for the touch ups. They have to play in their bowls.

Yeah, I've been intending to ask you about that UZ.
