Hey everyone! I'm Lauren, I'm 21 and live in Miami...I have a dog, 2 cats, 2 turtles, a leopard gecko and just recently got a quaker(which my mother is not too happy about since my house is already the home of 5 pets she would never touch herself)! I have been rehabilitating and releasing wild animals since I can remember, so far I've rehabilitated 6 birds, 2 squirrels, 3 turtles, 1 rabbit, 2 iguanas, and I'm sure I'm forgetting some...clearly I LOVEEEEE animals! wub.gif Everyone on my island jokes around calling me Dr. Doolittle! I've only been on this site for 2 days and you've been so helpful already so I just wanted to say thank you! I was quite randomly given a Quaker about 3 or 4 days ago so I never researched about the breed so I'm sure I'll be bothering you all with LOTS of questions! tongue.gif At first she/he wouldn't stop biting but out of nowhere she really started to like me! biggrin.gif She screams when I leave and she bites everyone except me but she's so cute and has such personality! These parrots are hilarious! I am a very happy quaker mommy with a very upset and jealous pug sad.gif Hopefully that will end soon...talk to you soon!

Hi Lauren, Welcome to the forum!!!

You remind me of myself in my younger days. I was raised way out in the country and I was always "rehabilitating" wild critters. I once found three baby rabbits where the plow had destroyed their nest. They nursed the mama cat with her litter until they were old enough to eat on their own. I only put them in with her when they were hungry and she let them nurse.

There are a lot of great people aorund here who have a lot of knowledge. As Cantab said, you sure came to the right place.

Oh yes, PICTURES PLEASE!!!
