Hi All,
Jenn & Buddy again. I was wondering how many perches/toys to put in Buddys cage.
He now has 2 wooden ones and a big cement-like one and 3 good size toys. He has a pretty big cage, should I put a few more perches (rope ones) around? I ask because I am reading about how everyones quakers are so busy, busy. Buddy does not climb around to much from perch to perch. I have a big rope one on top, but he does not use that too much. He seems
happy & healthy, so I am wondering if I need more for him to amuse himself with.
Thanks in Advance for any advice.

It isn't necessarily the number of toys or perches in the birds cage. I make sure he has enough perches where he can move around the entire inside area of the cage from top to bottom but not so many that it is crowded...make sense. In regards to toys, kermit usually has 2-3 toys at a time in his cage, but I try to change them every two weeks or so to avoid boredom. I think changing them and the perch locations every few weeks is better than stuffing lots of toys and perches at one time. Variety is the spice of life, and they like when things are changed around. Even old toys they haven't seen in a while become "new" again.

what jeff already said is pretty sound advise rotating toys is better than filling a cage up with toys.

A girlfriend of mine (not implying you are like this btw) wanted her new fid to be happy so she bought tons of toys and when I went over to visit and check out her fidlet I could barely see him with the $$ amt of toys she had in there for him. I laughed and then told her to remove 50% of them at least and rotate them which is much better so at least the poor little guy could move around. I mean yea she had good intentions but she over did it. I also talked her out of a few of the toys to bring home to my fids (G)
