Full Version: Matted Down Feathers

I saw Chachi grooming himself. I went up to him and sprayed the area. I saw matted down feathers. No blood-maybe at one time. What do you think I should do. keep spraying him-even if he doesn't like it.See what happens? They guy I bought him from is out of town so he can't stop over.

I would try bathing him. Make it a two person job, one to hold, and the other to wash him. If it is really bad, maybe use a mild dawn/water solution. Just make sure to do it early so he can dry before bed. Only use plain old fashion dawn (less fragerence) rinse well. Do you feed any sticky foods? It could just be something like that to cause matting. Will he take a shower with you??

Nope-He hate to be sprayed. I only have him 3 weeks. I am thinking maybe poop(Ihope) I don't see him picking at himeself.
