Hi everyone! I'm a new member and have welcomed a new member to my home, in the form of a Quaker parrot. He is a sweetie!

I acquired him by way of a gal who had to give him up for health reasons. He is 11 years old and she has had him for most of those 11 years. My question is this: he almost appears to be 'chewing his cud' at times. I'll notice this white stuff all over the outside of his beak, and he'll be wiping his beak all along the outside of his cage. It's almost like he has reflux. Is this normal? Is it a stress reaction? I have had him for four days. He seems to be adjusting real well, otherwise. Any thoughts? Thanks!
