We have three birds in our household: Sam, Sassy, and Rico. For the past two years, I've been trying to teach Sam and Sassy to drink out of a juice glass so I can offer them a bit of my juice in the mornings (before I drink out of it). They've been stubborn, to say the least, and enjoy thrusting the cup back at me, biting at it, etc. They just didn't get the point of it until today.

we adopted rico last august, and he's brought a bunch of behavior issues with him. But today, I offered him my cup and was delighted when he dipped his head in, scooped up some juice, straightened up, swallowed with great gusto, and announced, "Good juice! Thank you!" and dipped right back down for some more.

And do you know what? Rico and Sassy watched him very carefully, and learned everything but the words from him.

And now all four of us flock over the juice cup in the mornings wub.gif
