Hi,

My name is Erin and my newly adopted QP is Nacho.

We had a rough introduction on Thursday. The people that owned him had her birds in a room where most of them flew free. When I walked in he flew at me and bit me hard (broke the skin a little) near my eye. He chomped me again on the hand when they tried to put him on my hand.

He went to get his wings and nails clipped on Sat. and is a new bird. They told me that would probably give him and attitude adjustment.

Sat evening he started making kissy noises. Saying pretty and letting me pet him.

Today…. I am his love object!! I found a thread and I am sure that is what is going on.

However he is being a total doll and I am happy I did not let our introduction scare me off.

I am also very happy that I found the forum. There is a ton of great info here.

He seemed to know his name and also was called Nachito.

They thought he was 2-3 years old. He does have a band that says Edna 247 FL. The bird store I got toys and food at (they been in business for 60 years) said there is usually another number that would give tell me his age. So I dont really know.

I have not taken any pictures yet, but will try and get some up soon.

No, I dont breed. There are enough unwanted animals that I would never add to the population.

All the pets are second hand pets. They are all fixed so there wont be any accidents

Cresteds are a love or hate kind of dog. Needless to say, I am in love

The only animal that cares about Nacho is Alley (rat/chi). She just sits there and stares at him. Sometimes she whines, but she stops when asked.

Everyone seemed to get over his introduction in a day.

I was just picturing little hairless crested babies, I'll bet their cute! That's why I asked. It's great that you rescue all your animals. Our Casey was a rescue too.
