Nancy and Bubba

I've been reading all the posts about this time of year, and your fids doing their thing. Bubba is now 7 years old and has not had any of those tendancies this year. Is that normal

do they stop having those urges, or should I be worried about him. Not that I miss those scenes, but I do want him to be normal.

Arthur is 11, and I have noticed less of that with him as he's gotten older. He's still done it this year, but only once that I know about. It seems like he used to do it more often when he was younger, or at least that he was less private about it.

Maybe it is the bird but Morgan is 11 also and has not skipped a beat yet. He tries to do it on everything and anything.

Thanks Majj - just a bit worried about the boy. Guess I should be glad he has settled down

I thought about it more after I posted, and my husband has been calling a particular toy Arthur's 'girlfriend'. I think maybe they just get more discrete, depending on your reaction. I tend to laugh at my guy, he just looks so ridiculous! Poor lil guy just doesn't like me laughing at him.

Kermit is 11 and doesn't do it anymore, at least I haven't seen it. LOL. We had to move his cage into our room since we have company visiting this week and my wife said she thought she heard the "love sounds" coming from his cage the other morning before we uncovered him. So, maybe he has resorted to doing it "in the closet" so to speak. But, he still has the crazy bird hormone behavior now.

Patrick is 6. Last spring was the first time he got nasty with us during hormonal season and this year again too, although we've had way more friendly moments during this time around. Yet I've never noticed any IT behavior, and we've had him since he was about 9 weeks. When he's out with me he can have sudden attitude changes... the eyes narrow, and neck feathers stand up and I know at that point he'll do anything to charge at me to bite so I'll just put him back.
I was quite surprised to see the photos on here of what your birds are doing, and especially the video posted on the video page. Wow. I have never seen Patrick do that. Although I have read in bird books to distract the bird when he gets like that. I'll distract him from the related biting, but so far not the act. Maybe it's because I call him my "baby bird" all the time!
