They have been caged for close to 2 years. They will be 3 in may and june..they were paired in the same cage when they were a yr old.
Shee took very well to it...actually they both did.Even when I put them on the same playstand together...Shelby climbed her way onto the other one blink.gif
I am guessing their bond is more as clutchmates then a pair/mate bond.

cool cages
which cage do you like better? Any pro's and con's of either of them?
Abby has a really large kings cage thats top pulls up on both sides for extended play area. Its the cage I got with her when I was going to foster her but its really a royal pain when I want to do major cleaning so in the future I forsee a new cage for her given she spends more time out of her cage than in, its massive measuring at 5 foot wide 5 foot high (7 foot with the play area up) and 3 foot deep which is pretty decent for a single big bird but I kind of think they could of designed it a bit better.

well, seeing as how I am only 5 ft tall, I like the shorter cage.It also has a wider door. But I like the feed doors on the domed cage better then the other cage. The smaller one also does not have a breeder door...which means less chance of escape LOL We haven't used the playtop yet.I have not really done a mjor cleaning yet on the new one so I will have to let ya know on that smile.gif

That makes sense then! For me I like the cage higher because I am 10 inches taller than you are and I get so lazy bending down Iwhen my mother in law comes to visit she moves all my cupboard stuff lower since she is the one taking over the cooking where as I prefer to reach higher)
The thing I like about the kings cage is how you can remove the feed water bowls with outside doors for each which def makes life easier that way. Its just I dont like how the grate and bottom thing come out its difficult and I end up making a bigger mess before the actual clean up begins.
let me know when you do a major cleaning as I really think product recomendation from ppl that actually use stuff is much better than reading the manufacturers specs.

In both cages there are seperate doors for feeding. But in the shorter cage the doors swing out...which as you can tell by the pic thats hard because there isn't much room between the wall and the cage. The other cage the doors slide up so you can just slide the bowl out.
The lady I bought the cage from has got to find the bowls that go with the cage..so for now I have one attched to the inside of the cage.
I have to get another bolt for the play top...but I am afraid that that will put them a bit close to the ceiling...beak chunks taken out of the ceiling cannot be a good thing laugh.gif I am going to give it a try this evening......

yea the feed doors I have now open and I can stick regular stainless steel bowls in there for me I like it but hrmmm
you got me to thinking
currently abbys cage is in the room where I have a 2 story vaulted ceiling but after all the remodeling is done she will have her own playroom that has a regular ceiling so gee I wonder if the play gym on top will be too high for her too...gah I never think things out but I should check on that because that def would be a problem.
