I have always switched the words I use for routine things..since those are the words most easily picked up by Dodger.He has nite nite down..as well as sleepy time and good night.So for the past few weeks as I take him to his sleep cage I have been telling him its "birdie bedtime" As soon as I walked into the room..he looked at his cage and said "Birdie bedtime" LOL Of course I had to laugh at him and give him a treat After I locked him in said goodnight to the other fids in the room and shut the door...I could still hear him for at least another 15 minutes saying it LOL I guess he wanted more giggles and treats

I'm running out of bedtime phrases

Boo first learned "nite nite." Next he began telling my other fid good night, "nite nite Mickey." Now at bedytime he is so sweet. Boo tells Mickey nite nite, then he says "nite nite Mama." It's hard to put him to bed when he is being so cute.

Awe, that is so sweet. I would love to hear my birds say "nite nite mama"

That is really cute. I wish Kiwi would say something like that. Every night when I put him to bed, I tell him it is time to go "night, night" but he hasn't said it

Awwwwww......well around here we know when it's time for nite nite b/c peanut will scream peanut go nite nite over and over until he's covered and happy

Sweet music to the ear for sure Angie.....That certainly is a sweet sound....



Harley says "nite nite" all the way to his nighty cage but once I put him in his cage, he is tucked in and not a sound to be heard.,...And for Dodger to keep saying it, what a sweet bird...Yep, I think he was trying to bribe you for more treats mommy....

paulie has good night down, he also say night night and bedy bye. I being puerto rican i tel him it's Mi-mi time.haha my grand ma used to tell me that. i tell him ok go mimi. and he goes into the cage and waits for his kisses and pets. i tell him good boy and he starts up with good boy good bubi, he does that a few minutes.

oh my how cute! I keep working on things with them but one is just over a year and theother was stressed out when we got him but he seems to be making more progress than the young one? oooohhhhh something to look forward too!

We are still working on Nite Nite here! Casey has kind of said it twice now, she is a fast learner with other words but she is taking her time with Nite Nite!

We have a ritual at bedtime. Twiz goes to the hall mirror to tell the bird there, "It's time to go to bed!" Then he gets a bedtime treat--one pepita. After he's in his house he tells us goodnight:
"Nite nite Ree. Nite nite Judi." And since he can't say my mother-in-law's name he says, "Nite nite everybody!"
