I think I finally figured out what the white stuff on my birds beak is. The gal who gave me the bird had a wrapper with some whitish grainy looking stuff in it hanging in the cage. I think the bird picks at that and that's what I see. I'll see his previous owner in the next few days; I'll have to ask her what that is. Anyway's he's adjusting real well. He comes out of the cage and comes on to my or my daughter's finger. he talks a lot. I'll have to have my daughter take some digital pics of him so I can post them for all to see. I have a geriatric parakeet and a cockatiel, also. They seem to ignore Joey for the most part.

Joey is 11 or 12 years old. I wasn't sure how well he'd adjust to his new family(us), because he'd been with his previous owner since he was a baby. But, so far, so good!
Do you happen to know what that stuff is in his cage? Is it a cuttle bone or mineral block? Just curious
Wow--- 11 or 12 years old...I think that is just wonderful to hear of a birdies age being that....I do hope my birdie lives that long and longer....(paranoid mom,
