I thought I would share my bird biscuit recipe. My
birds love these. I make Birdy Biscuits every 2 weeks
for 3 parrots. I make a double batch (recipe below)
and freeze 1/2 of the muffins/biscuits for week 2.

Birdy Biscuits

2 box of Jiffy cornbread mix-follow the directionos on
box then add the following:

4 TBSP Harrison's (crushed or Mashed-I use mashed)
4 TBSP Seeds (optional)
2 Hard Boiled Eggs (minced via food processor)
1 Uncooked Sweet Potatoe (minced via food processor)
1 Uncooked Yellow Squash (minced via food processor)
2 cups Uncooked carrot straws (minced via food
processor)

I use the mini muffin pans and follow the cooking
direction on the Jiffy box. This recipe makes a
little over 4 dozen mini muffins. At the bottom of the
directions it suggests giving 1 birdy biscuit per bird
per day. My birds get 1/2 a biscuit in the morning
with seeds, pellets, fruits and veggies and the same
again at night smile.gif

Anyone else have any parrot recipes? I would love to
try them.

mellow.gif I forgot to add that instead of using Milk, called for on the Jiffy box corn bread box, I use Very Vanilla Soy Milk (purchased from Super Target). My birds definetly prefer the biscuit/muffins made with vanilla soy milk verses regular milk.

I was told not to use jiffy because of the sugar in it. I use corn meal or organic whole grain wheat flour. Just a thought.
