how long would you say i should give my new quaker to adjust before starting to work with him. i got him from a petstore and he hasnt been handle since he was weaned and he is now six months old. he is very cage agressive and bites HARD! how should i approach this? thank you all for your help!

He will likely be much easier to work with away from the cage- many Quakers are cage-agressive specifically. And, as hard as it sounds- you need to not react to the bites. And when he does, push in gently, it makes them let go much faster as they lose their balance. If you have problems with not reacting, try wearing long sleeves and have him step up onto your arm, instead.

How is your bird doing now. Its been a month. My 3 year old quaker is more aggressive in his cage but not at all in other rooms. Try taking him out of the cage and into another room and see what happens.
