Hi my name is Angie, I live in Victoria, Australia.

I found this forum a while ago when I was interested in getting a quaker for my daughter. Well it turns out that this sunday we are have a breeding pair shipped over from adelaide. A blue male (he is handraised and tame) Billy and a female green split to blue (she is parent raised and not so tame) her name was Woman but I will call her Bell.

The previous owner had to sell all his birds because his business became very busy, but his quakers he wanted to go to a good pet style of home, we had talked on another bird forum and he remembered me and my daughter and wants us to take them off his hands free of charge, so they go to a good loving home.

I will post pics when they arrive and are settled in biggrin.gif

We already have a breeding pair of Indian Ringnecks Mickey and Kai (blue and lutino) a pet Lutino male named Jordan, a pet handraised baby of our breedig pair called pickle (he is green of course hense the name). We also have a cockatiel name kiely, a lovebird named Jasper and two budgies Stella and Brinly. ok I think thats it. wacko.gif

Ok off to do some reading up on these little beauties.

Hi Angie, I'm glad you found this forum too. Welcome!!

The quakerparrots.com forum is a virtual quaker parrot encyclopedia; and better because you can ask specific questions and get specific answers.

I look forward to seeing the pix!

Thanks for the lovely welcome everyone. I am sure I will have plenty of questions and as soon as I find time, between kids and fids, I will read more. There is actually one bird that sold me on wanting a quaker, his name is twizzlebeak, I think it was this forum I saw his video's on.

I pick the fids up on Sunday, 6 days to go biggrin.gif

Oh yes, This is where you found Twizzlebeak. I think Twizzy inspired a lot of us to choose quakers.

I recorded part of one of his vidoes to use as the sound for my incoming emails in Outlook Express. Now every time I get an email, Twizzlebeak lets me know with "Look! Look at that!!".

Well now isn't that a cute idea QPdad....Never knew that could be done....But a computer whiz can do most anything I would say....

Welcome Angie, so glad to have you here with us...And yes, I would have to say that Twizzie is our little mascot, or at least I've adopted him to be... tongue.gif He certainly is an awesome quaker.....

Looking forward to hearing more about you and the flock..... smile.gif

They are so soft and have the cutest little growl, they sound a little like seagulls when they do that. Been spending some time talking to them and watching them preen and love each other .. its so cute.

With Billy and Bell .. The babies will be predominantly blue with the chance of the occassional green, as Bell is green split to blue.
