Hi all,
Just popped in to say HI and to tell you about a natural cleaner that I just used to clean Paulie's cage. It's nothing new but I just love how it saves me money by keeping me from buying all those expensive 'Poop-off' products from the pet store. I got the idea from this page, in fact. Just use a plain mixture of vinigar and water but someone from a local bird store told me to add hydrogen peroxide to that mixture for an extra kick. It's wonderful! It melts the poop and it saves me money. Just wanted to express my joy. Tata for now.

I have heard of something like this, but instead of mixing the vinager and peroxide, you keep them each separate in a spray bottle. You spray one on the cage first, then the other right after, then wash and rinse. Something about it cleans even better if you don't mix them ahead of time. Maybe I can find the site. Anyway, I have yet to try it but it does sound like a winnder to me too.

What proportions?
Get a clean spray bottle and divide it into thirds. Put in one third of each : water, vinagar, hydrogen peroxide. Shake slightly and go.....

Thank you. Yes, I can vouch that it really does work great. I've been using this and a similar mixture myself. Instead of Peroxide, I also used Baking soda at times, works great too.
Also-
I found that for really bad fruit stains on walls and floors/carpet a mixture of Water, Baking Soda and Oxyclean powder works miracles. My Senegal loved Pomegranates, but he was the messiest little critter to eat those. I had red juicy spots all over the cage, perches, walls and carpet near the cage. It looked like a murder scene! That Baking Soda/Oxyclean mixture worked miracles without hardly any scrubbing.

Careful with the Oxyclean. It sounds like a similar product I used in Holland and it really made me sick (but I was using it in the bathroom, on laundry). Searched the web and found more people reporting that. If it can make me sick, what might it be able do to a bird?
PS
Thanks for the tip!
