OK, and yes, I realize I didn't have to type that I was consulting another source but oh well... here is the order of nuts by fat content, starting with the highest, based on what I found...
Macadamia Nuts
Brazil Nuts
English/Persian Walnuts
Pecans
Hazelnuts
Spanish Peanuts
Peanuts
Almonds
Pistachios
Cashews (Boy was I wrong on that one!)
Chestnuts
Now that's gross fat content... some of those nuts, like Almonds have way more good fats then bad fats in them while cashews and macadamias have lots of the bad fats. The softer and more buttery the nut, the worse it is for you as far as I understand.
