Feather picking or chewing problems with companion birds:
Feather picking is seldom seen in the wild and often seen in captive birds. There are so many causes, some simple, some more complex medical problem, internal (or) external parasites, dry skin, not enough toys, not enough chew toys or paper shredders, boredom, not enough time out of the cage, not a large enough cage, poor diet, grief from a loved one, several of the above can also cause Psychological problems that lead to behavioral issues with your bird. It is important to consult your avian veterinarian if your bird is showing signs of physical or Psychological problems.
Showers: I can not stress how important it is to give your bird a shower. If your bird does not like showers, please keep trying to give them a gentle misting; most likely in time it will become an enjoyable pleasure you share together.
