To those of you that know me from AnAG - I have managed to find a Quaker Parrot breeder! biggrin.gif She contacted me this morning, to say that the quakers breed in September - here in South Africa - and that I should contact her then. She has blue and green ones. At first I thought the blue ones were beautiful - then I was told they are the mutations... and since seeing all your photo's of the green ones wub.gif ... I don't know... We will have to see the babies to pick one! I think it will more than likely be a green one! But it's such a long wait! But, I am more than willing to wait!!! Thanks to Carrie-Anne for helping with the website info! wink.gif

YAYAYA WOOT!! GRATZ!
omg i stil have this picture inm my head when ever i think of africa i think of dry grass and lions.. not cities or anything...
Coco23
Lol @ Phil! Well, I live in one of the biggest cities - Johannesburg - and would you believe that I have NEVER been to see the Lions in their natural habitat? Only in Zoo's... It's still something I have to experience for myself!!! But we do have cities! biggrin.gif Not that we can go into the city... It's too dangerous...
phill11
you never seen loins!

to dangerous really!

Well, there aren't any animals roaming freely in South Africa - Mostly in parks and game reserves - the biggest game reserve in South Africa is the Kruger National Park - I have never been there - Most other african countries, such as Namibia - still have many freely roaming animals - but I have never seen it for myself - I have seen wild animals before, but like I said - Only in Zoo's - and Lion parks.

Johannesburg is a city where most of the crime in this country occurs - people shooting each other everyday! All of the major cities hhave a high crime rate - such as Joburg, Pretoria, Durban, and Cape TTown... It's harendous (spelling?) - Just driving through the main cCity is a risk!

It's great you finally found a breeder....You can use the time now to prepare for your quaker and September will be here before you know it.... unsure.gif

I noticed in your siggy that you have two sheps...they are my breed and just so beautiful....How old are each of them and your poms....

Have you always lived in Africa?...Just interested to know I guess....

Hi Harley's mom,

The 2 Shepards Storm (Male 7) and Bonny (Female 4) - The 3 toy poms (one of which I only got on Saturday 5th May) Cuddles, she is only 10 weeks old - Teddy (Male) is 4 - and Dolly (Female) is the eldest at 11 years.

Yes I have always lived in South Africa - I was born here - and to tell you the truth - I have never been outside the country!

What shepards do you have? Male, female? How many? We had 6 at one stage! We use to do training - I was actually a trainer myself for a while!

Thanks Dawn...I don't have any sheps, but I do like the breed....I use to have golden retrievers as pets...Raised a family once but now they are all gone...That was a very trying time for me when I had to give them up due to sickness...Lost mama Penni at age 7, then 6 years later had to euthanize daddy Barnee and son Andee....I just couldn't bring myself to get anymore dogs, so that is why I have Harley now who is 3 1/2 years old...Hopefully, he will live longer (maybe outlive me)...too hurtful to go through losing pets for me....

Wishing you the best with your clan and they are all very beautiful ......

Yes, I know how sore it is having animals put to sleep... Gosh - I have been through enough to know - I am 23, and I have been through at least 7... It's not easy! But I can't live without them! And... I have 3 African Greys (which are going to outlive me...) and I will hopefully have a Quaker soon, who will be with me for many years! rolleyes.gif
