Art imitates life in this fun puzzle for bird-watchers. Each verse describes a different backyard bird...Can you guess them all? Answers will be revealed tomorrow 4:00 EST. lol

1. Rust on blue; a most vibrant hue.

2. Rust on black; means spring is back.

3. White, black and yellow; a fine and dandy dapper fellow.

4. Gray and white with a dark-brown hat; amazing little acrobat.

5. A splash of red on evergreen; a prettier picture I've never seen.

6. An iridescent flash darts past; how to make this moment last?

7. Bold black and white with a bright-red cap; I know you're near---tap, tap, tap!

8. With a tuft upon soft gray and white; in the blink of an eye you take quick flight.

9. How many countless songs one sings; then flies away on whirling wings.

10. Diving, swooping, soaring high; swift silhouette upon darkened sky...

Come on everyone, don't poop out on me.....Do everyone not know their birds or are just ain't gonna say... tongue.gif I thought it would be interesting just to see....And Cheryl is the only one that took the plunge....But I think you have one wrong girl... tongue.gif Will reveal the answers as stated.... wink.gif

I thought 5 was the easiest- obviously a cardinal!

The swooping guy could be a vulture, too. You certainly see many more turkey vultures than hawks soaring around my area.

And I thought black-capped chickadee rather than the Carolina, but I guess they both have caps.

9 was tricky- when I hear 'whirling wing' I think of doves, because when they fly you get that whirling sound, but I don't think they have many songs?

Good game!
