I was showing my husband some of the videos tonight and he thought Twizz was awesome. He asked if Sammy was going to get like that and I didn't have the answer. Sammy is 18 months and has a vocabulary of well over a hundred words and phrases but he's not putting sentences together like Twizz. I realize every bird is going to be different but Twizz seems off the chart! Is he?

He's pretty spectacular, isn't he? wub.gif I think that type of ability isn't the norm, but it isn't that irregular either. While, my Max isn't quite as talented as Twiz (yet biggrin.gif ), she is well on her way. She picks things up right away and is contantly throwing sentences together. We can have quite the conversation laugh.gif

There are a number of Quakers on this forum with this kind of talent. We're a lucky place, I tell ya!

i have to admit... Twiz is the reason i went out and bought Cricket when i did. i had been on this site for a few weeks reading everything i could but the night after i watched Twiz's videos i was amazed.

i don't expect Cricket to ever be as talented as Twiz but just knowing that these little birds have such great big minds.... i couldn't help myself and ran right out and snatched him up.

i love Cricket whether he says the two words he knows forever or if he can hold a converation with me. he's just so sweet.

Yep Twiz is an amazing lil guy, I just love him and I love seeing his new videos. Also he is part of the reason, along with pluto and all the other great quakers we have here that I ended up being owned by Peanut. Peanut is pretty smart I think and I've given up counting on how many words he knows and whatnot but not sure if he'll ever get to Twiz "stage" or not. Either way he's my baby wub.gif

I think Twiz is an awesome fid...and you can tell that they spend lots of time with him...Joy was a talker, but Twiz has her beat by a long shot...
I know Judi and her husband are proud of him...I haven't seen a new video in a while...JUDI?????????

Thanks everybody! Twiz hasn't worked up much new material lately. tongue.gif And when we record he often sits out of view of the camera on a different perch! Stinker! But we will try to put something on soon.

He still surprises me with the depth of his understanding and concern for his people friends. I pulled a muscle in my back the other day and Ree was massaging it for me. Twiz wanted OUT! He came to my face and started saying every sweet thing he knew and gave me lots of kisses!

Ok, glad I'm not the only one so enamored by Twiz. I tell my husband all about Twiz, and tell Patrick to "be like Twiz". And I noticed recently, nothing about Twiz. Made me sad.

But I've got my own cutie here, have to remember... I'll tell you, he's not bad... he does put some things together, like "Are you a baby bird?" and "Hi Pumpkin!" became "Are you a pumpkin?" I burst out laughing at this improvisation and then he laughed. And he associates phone ringing with phone talk... "alright"... mmmhmmm".... "okay".... "yeah uh huh", etc. While we're talking on the phone. I have to try not to crack up when I'm on the phone with a client! Just about as bad as a kid!!

But by far, two of my favorite Twizzie videos are the one where he announces the cat at the door, and the one where he sings Row Your Boat. I emailed those out to family -- they were so good.

Twiz is the BOMB! He is quite a good picker upper on those bad days when you just need a quiet laugh!
Though Poppy is nowhere near Twiz's abilities, he is still good for a laugh!

I fell in love with Twizz a long time ago, so when I had the option of a sunny or a quaker it was quaker without a doubt, because of twizz. My kids adore him. Then searching out more on quakers I came across this .. how cool is this.

My Billy and Bell, we just adopted two weeks ago are 4 years old, a bonded proven breeding pair (last two seasons), yet Billy still adores to be on us and gets really playful, I can even hold him upside down in my hands and tickle him. But I don't know if he will ever learn to talk, being an older bird. But I can't wait to handraise some babies and get them talking and singing biggrin.gif

tongue.gif Twiz and Pluto ROCK!

I only wish that I had a video camera..Marley was just the same way. She would hold coversations with the pelicans, all the other sea birds and with the family...she even taught my parakeet and parrotlet to talk. (Not as extensive of course). I work at home and could hear her holding "classes" from 1:30 until 2:30 each day...funny stuff!

I listen to Pluto's songs every day and watch Twiz all the time. They comfort me a lot and I love them so much.

All the babies here are the greatest!!!!
