Ok..so we go to my favorite bird store Friday evening. Had to get some food and picked up a few goodies for my boys..and of course I must go over to the cages and check out all the birds. Welp..there was a baby girl Indian Ringneck Parrot. Still being hand fed..and cute as can be. Of course I had to take her out and play with her. She looked up at me and did that little baby peep..and it I was like ugh don't do that..I can't resist that!! lol! She was $500 (another ugh). Then one of the guys that work there took me to the back and showed me a pair of adult ringnecks that they were boarding for another customer. Of course I couldn't touch..just look..but OMG..they were so cute! The boy kept saying hey baby c'mere..it was too cute! Of course I walked out empty handed..don't have the cash for it right now..spent $80 as it was. But as of right now I am saving my pennies. Of course the old man was like ..no more birds! Ha! The kiddo also fell in love with love birds and now is trying to save her pennies to get those and I got the whole I can keep em in my room Mom!! With her birthday that just passed ..she's not far off money wise. Of course the old man again said ..no more birds!!! LOL! Kinda just goes in one ear and out the other. I really need to get a house or I'm gonna end up renting an apartment just for my animals.
Does anyone have ringnecks and can offer any advice or just tell me about their birds?

If you're living in an apartment...I'd ixnay the ringneck...While they are pretty...They are LOUD LOUD...LOUD...their scream is piercing.
Andie has some and they were/are far louder than her yellow collar mini macaw was by far...Granted the ones she has/had are breeders...but a scream is a scream.
I'd visit them again several times before I made up my mind and really consider waiting if you plan on moving into a house.
Some ring necks are very intelligent and as you've probably seen the one on You Tube with all the tricks...

Good Point Connie..thanks! Brady is can get pretty loud during the day..and usually I am the only one home..especially during the week..but that's a good thing to consider. Especially if the two feed off each other and then it'll really be noisy! Nugget is so quiet..except when I leave..then he'll make a few squawks and then stop. It will probably be some time before I get one anyhow considering the old man is still laid off...I want a house so bad..I'm tired of living in an apartment. Plus I want a dog..or two..lol!

I had a indian ringneck female. I bought her when she was down to 4 feedings a day. She unfortunately was very aggressive during handfeedings, she bit and drew blood. I suspect she had been pulled late, although the breeder told me otherwise. She did produce ear splitting high pitched screams. This was back when i knew little about the psychological needs of parrots, so the screaming undoubtably would have been less if i knew then what i know now. I ended up giving her to a friend who had a large aviary just for her and a mate. She was a excellant talker, very clear speech. She is 17 now and still living the good life in s. cali.
