I am so worried I have notice that one of my cockatiels is a little lethargic this morning and shaking. I don't know what to do and it is the weekend and my vet isn't answering his phone. He is the only avian vet that I could find. Can any one help, what should I do?

Where are you at?
Do you have emergency vets in your area?
In the meantime its a good idea to separate that tiel from the flock and put it in another cage and keep it warm.

bumping---How is your tiel?

Is your Teil a Male or Female, because if it's a Female she maybe egg-bound, I would seperate the sick teil (unless this causes more strees on the bird) and give it more warmth, in special heat lamps/warming pads if you have them, are they inside or out? if outside definatly bring it in, offer any favorite food such as millet spray, and take to a vet a soon as possible. Some people use a glass aquarium as a hospital cage to help keep the bird warm, and hotwater bottles ( not boiling) with towels ontop. Let us know how you get on, I hope everything turns out OK. unsure.gif

Oh I am sooooo sorry. sad.gif It hurts so much when we lose one of our loved ones! Any idea at all about what happened?

Huggs to you in your loss. She is flying free, healthy and out of pain, over the Rainbow Bridge now, poor little thing.
