Hey guys I was just thinking about this,
I know alot of people have Rehomed their quakers with fellow QP forum members. And since I'm taking In Lilblue's Quaker and raising him. I know she'd love to hear updates about stitch.
I was thinking putting a section up for Quakers that have been Rehomed - that way they can see pictures and hear updates about How the little ones are doing and be able to keep in touch with each other.
Well guys anyone else for this?

That is a great idea!! Both of my birds came from other members of this forum, and I email them updates and photos regularly!

yea i love the idea to
Is the suggestion to have a separate forum just to post updates about rehomed quakers rather then post the updates/pics in the existing forums? Like instead of posting about the quaker in Health and Nutrition one would post in rehomed quakers instead?
Is the expectation that the former owner would be able to find out how the bird is doing by going to that specific forum without having to search the entire forum for information about the bird?
Just gathering information and opinions. I have the functionality to do this but will forward to Shelly for her review once I know what we are looking at ..
Thanks

it could be next to the Needs home section which would be better because yeah people can check on the birds there instead of like you said searching the whole forum for the bird.. one simple section.. well what do you think about it?

I think it is a great idea. I have never taken in a re homed bird but often wonder when someone does, how they are doing. It would take forever to find the original post.

I think its a great idea! Then when Wanda wants to check on Jacquee she would know right where to go.

Ok .. I created a new forum in For Pet Lovers named "Avian Re-Homing" .. within that section is our existing forum "Needs New Home" and "Re-Homed and Rescued FIDS" ..
I used the words Avian and FIDS and will post some type of announcement to ensure we stick to birds ...
Is this what you were thinking of .. Would you like to see it a little differently .. different titles etc...
Thanks

I have taken in 3 birds, and each of the previous owners got my name, phone number and even my address, because I would think they would want to know, how they're doing.
I haven't heard from any of them.
Duke, the GC lived for more than a year with his previous family. Charlie came to me at 2.5 years old, and had been with his previous family, since he was a baby. Shrek had been with his family for 4 months, also as a baby.
I realise that my birds previous owners are not the norm, but I'm still disappointed on behalf of the birds.

Andy, Rocky's dad has called me every other day to see how he's doing or tell me something he forgot. But I don't mind, it shows me how much he really loves him and what a great home he comes from.

What a great idea..I like reading the updates myself even though I have nothing to do with the situation..just like reading how they are doing and the great stories..so I am sure anyone who gave up the bird would be grateful for this...Just my thoughts though..
