well ever since he was little i would scratch under his wings and little by little id raise the scratching high and high and keep saying wing over and over so it goes: scratch under the wing and say wing, eventually they'll put two and two together. i;ll do a how to do video up for you..

Pooder will do "white meat" where he lifts his wings for sritches underneath. And, he will also do the "bob" which is where we say "Go Pooder, Go Pooder, Go Pooder" and he bobs his head up and down the way only a quaker can. He just recently picked up the "horse blowing sound" from hubby and it's sooo adorable!

I'm not trying to hijack the thread, you have some wonderfully beautiful and talented fids. I just wanted to share that I find it amazing how quickly they pick things up as well as how long they retain them. Pooder has been doing the "white meat" for almost 6 months now and will raise his wings from across the house as long as he can see who it asking him for white meat. (He also will raise his leg for a "drumstick" ) The names for the white meat and drumstick stems from hubby telling him that we're going to have green chicken for supper if Pooder doesn't quick squawking. Pooder now laughs when hubby says that.

I love how you can have Tillie on the same cage as Kai and Paulie! I wish mine could do that.

hahaha pooder white meat and drumsticks poor pooder i can only imagine him on thanks giving with his eyes wide as the turkey lays there with family saying: i want the drumstick and some white meat, oh yum!!.. lol

Yep Tilly gets along with the other two and visa versa that is just playtime together and then they have seperate playtime. they really dont care as long as one is preening the other one..lol Paulie preens both Kai and Tilly, Tilly preens Paulie but not Kai, Kai preens paulie and very rarely Tilly, all three has a love affair with my hair..lol

That sounds so adorable! Everyone at hubby's work thinks it's crazy that I actually let Pooder eat chicken. I don't understand it. I mean...we're mammals and we eat other mammals, why is it so strange that Pooder would enjoy eating chicken and turkey (and anything else momma eats if he can get away with it)? No one has answered that one yet.

As far as at the holidays, He doesn't get to see the turkey until it's ready to be served, and it's carved up by then. Of course, he's impatiently waiting for his serving by that time. Since he's just started doing "white meat" and "drumstick" early this year, I will have to see what happens this year at the holidays.
