just wanted to drop in and say HI!
we FINALLY got our quaker last week , after waiting for over a month for him to ween, he is about 8-9 weeks old now and full of himself LOL!
seriously , this little one has no fear and is very lucky the dogs listen so well, he keeps flying off his play top (i say flying , its more a ungracefull fall as his wings are clipped) and landing on them!! never seen anything so funny as a big ole lab running from a little green bird, all cuzz mommy has hollared YOU BETTER NOT EAT HIM! as she scrambles to put him back in his "room"
i do put him back in his cage in a "time out" when he does that , i hope it starts working LOL ,
anyways just wnated to introduce me and my mischeivous Quaker Mojo!
ps please excuse all the typos, i know im horrible about em!

Welcome to the forum!

This is the best place on the internet to find information on Quakers! (and it's quite addicting too!)

8-9 weeks seems a little young to be fully weaned. I would recommend buying a gram scale to monitor his weight and make sure he isn't loosing too much since he is still young.

I know... it's hilarious to watch the dogs run away from a tiny little bird!
Feel free to jump in anytime and ask as many questions as you wish!

Welcome!

WELCOME to the group to both you and Mojo ..cool name ...My dog also runs if the birds go near him and he is a big samoyed ..chicken BUT never leave the dog in the same room with your little fid unsupervised, as accidents can happen one swipe from the big paw would do a lot of damage...
Share some pictures sometime soon check out the different forums and join in , don`t be shy this is a great group , once again WELCOME from me and the gang downunder..

oh no i never leave him unsupervised, im right there besid him if he decided s to mess with the labs, i know they are well behaved but i also know they are breed to eb bird dogs and instinct is sometimes stronger than trainging!!! i honestly trust them but i do know they have limits LOL!
also im terrified he will bite thru cords and mess up stuff if left out alone, i think that scares me more LMAO
