Can I see some pictures?
I haven't seen any recently, so it would be wonderful if we could get some 'too owners to post some pics of their birds. I love Cockatoos (no, I don't want one, never will

).
So if any of you could share some pics, the crazier the better, I would be so very happy

I don't own one, but the sanctuary I am at is mostly toos, so have a couple from them...the first is our xmas pic from two years ago (these are mutilators, so we use sock buddies as deterants, just spiced it up a bit for the pic)

this is one fo the younger birds that we gave to a woman (who is impt to the sanctuary) that lost 4 of her priceless toos in a fire, she's taught him to freefly.

I'm there almost every Sunday right now...although I'll have to cut back eventually, as life happens...but the idea is everyother week..We've almost got another aviary up and running..so should be good..Then at least Colleen and i can have a separate medical area, rather than using the kitchen!

Carrie~Anne,
The woman who runs the rescue I work with has THREE cockatoos - two TERRIBLY PLUCKED Umbrellas (one was kept by her previous guardian in a CockaTIEL cage, so she could never open her wings and didn't even know she HAD any!) and a Moluccan. I will try to get her to forward me some pics of them to post for you!

Carrie,
I am attaching a photo of Sunshine (left) and Daphne (right). They are the two Umbrella Cockatoos that are being fostered by the rescue I am working with. That's Tim, Lisa's (the founder of the rescue) husband.
Sunshine was kept in a cockaTIEL cage by her former guardian so she didn't know she had wings because she could never spread them. It took her a couple weeks to even be able to get her balance to step up and perch on someone's arm. She is terribly plucked - by another cockatoo who has since been rehomed.
Daphne has nicer feathers, but she is mutilating. She now has a collar on, and is miserable. Both are now on a proper pellet diet, are receiving full-spectrum ligthting, and proper vet care. We're hoping that in time they will be able to be rehomed. They are both very sweet birds!
The yellow ringneck is Jack - he's Tim's bird.

LOL Michelle!!! Soooowwwy!! While I love Cockatoos, I know they aren't a bird for me. So looking at all the pictures does me no harm. Perhaps I should of put a disclaimer at the beginning of my post

When he 1st came he loved his dad the most. Now, he loves hims mom most! The 2nd day he was home, he was almost arrested

Goffin's are the comedians...but are typically a little "thinner" or less stocky than the bare-eyes..bare-eyes are a bit bigger and usually nippier too..just in general. Thats been my experience with them at least!

The bare eye has no feathers around his eye. Also has a patch of fluid under each eye. They sound totally diffrent also, I couldnt say about here personality boo is pretty laid back due to his upbring & age
Here is a video of his sound
