Ok, I've had ZeZe now a couple of weeks. He's come a long way as far as learning to step-up. And not TOTALLY freaking out when I go to get him out of the cage. But he still continues to attempt to "fly" away from me at any given moment. I'm afraid he's going to break his neck or a wing or whatever birds can break! It's frustrating sad.gif Is there anything I can do? I feel like his wings weren't clipped until possibly right before he was sold to the pet store, because I'm sure he actually thinks he can fly.

When you are working/training him, where do you do it? Is it in view of his cage? Or in a separate room, one that he isn't familiar with?

I know it is hard, but try and be patient, it can take months before the trust is completely there. smile.gif

I had been working with him in the same room as his cage. I keep his cage in the downstairs living room where we watch tv and have the computer. Last night I took him upstairs and just sat and talked to him. He was looking around for somewhere to fly and tried it once. But I was able to keep him close to me. He loves my hair, which is fine but he got stuck in it last night. Not such a great idea, LOL. In my hair is the only way he'll stay with me willingly right now.

I would recommend working in a different room without his cage. He will want to stay with you more, knowing that it's an unfamilar place and he can't see his "home" for comfort. smile.gif

Good luck! smile.gif
