Has anyone built a play stand or a gym for their quaker? I am going to tell my husband when he gets home this weekend that I need one ask if he could build one. He is very handy. Any ideas? I cannot spend any more $$ on Otis.(until the next time I go shopping) Everytime I go shopping I spend way too much.

Quick, easy and cheap.....I found one in a book I bought but sounds crazy. At Big Lots, Wal-marts, Target... most stores sell wooden dish racks for about $8-10. Add toys (I buy a lot of the toys at dollar stores in the baby section) here is a couple pictures of one I made. (And don't need to wait for hubby to do anything!)

If you scroll down in this thread I give some fairly detailed instructions on how I make my "Bird Trees". Parts cost about $40-$50 Canadian. It should keep your hubby out of your hair for a few hours.

I forgot to add that I put small castors on the bottom so they can be rolled around the room rather than carried.

I have a woods behind our house. Any kind of wood I CAN'T use? We have mainly maple trees. But, lots of limbs fall down in storms and such. your play gym looks good. wink.gif

Before installing
them in any cage, scrub
all branches with a
non-toxic disinfectant
(such as diluted chlorine
bleach), then rinse and
dry well.

opps the link didn`t work the first time trying again..

Keep in mind you can buy baby toys at dollar stores (plastic keys, rattles, etc) and use them for toys and use wood spoons for perches. Buy a bag of plastic straws and tie them together and hang them for your little guy to chew on. There are a lot of "homemade" toys that can be done real cheap and they enjoy more than the ones you spend big money on.
