Because the above has come up in many different posts ..

The following is just to confirm that your posts do not count in the GAMES section and never have. When we had games included in General Chit Chat all posts in that section were counted so by default the posts made in a game were counted as well ..

When GAMES became a section of its own we turned the counter off. It just doesn't serve any statistical benefit to the board to count posts in an area that are one liners, sometimes one word and don't in most cases truly reflect a member's overall "activity".

Also, your post count and everything that is in your profile that is viewed to the left of your messages is current. So if you were to go back and find a post that was three years old your post count would still reflect what it is as of now, your avatar would be current etc ..

Hope that answers a few questions ..

Dee, The problem with at least one member is that after she posts in games and then comes back and posts in another section, the counter doesn't count the next several posts which are not in "Games".

It may be that the counter doesn't reactivate until the browser is shut down and reopened.
EXAMPLE: Her count is 6,512. She goes and posts "I'm on top now.". Naturally, her count is still 6,512. Now she goes to a thread in "Quaker Parrot Talk" and posts a reply. After she posts, her count is still 6,512. Then she posts a reply in "General Chit Chat", still 6,512. etc. etc.

QPDad .. The incrementation is instant...

Having said that, without being able to recreate the problem, I'm thinking her posts are probably incrementing properly through the forum software and server but the person's cache file is full so won't reflect the change unless they do a hard refresh (Ctrl F5), or closing down the browser and come back on the forum again. In both cases, this forces the browser to load from the server.

Alternatively, if they were to clean their browser's cache the posts would be reflected correctly almost instantly.

ohmy.gif Ctrl-F5! I love it! Must use that from now on. Makes me suspicious what the others do... though knowing what Ctrl-F4 does, maybe I should look it up rather than playing around...
