I am sitting completely baffled!!!

Someone on one of the Conure emailing lists I belong to, just sent me a Congrats message. Seems she was going through past Parrot Chronicle contests and saw that in the May/June of 2006, Chi Chi and Lo Lee won Honourable mention.

I was like...eh? I never entered them into that! So out of curiosity, I went and took a peek.

Click~Here

You'll have to scroll down half the page. It is a picture of Lo Lee sharing her nutriberri with Chi Chi (I've posted the picture on here before).

But what really gets me is that the caption isn't even in English!! LOL I don't speak any other language (wee bit of French), so who the heck posted that?? Plus, they aren't both Green Cheeks, Lo Lee is a Maroon Bellied. AND, how the heck do they know my last name???

Now, I'm not freaking or anything but I'm just kinda floored wacko.gif

Crazy, eh?

I must say that is kind of strange.
~Wasabi~
It's a year old! Huh? unsure.gif Maybe a friend submitted it?
Jeepingchick
HOPEfully a friend submitted it ..who knows maybe your babys watch u to much on the PC and pickd up some mad internet skills and did it them selves LOL!
QPdad
My first thought was that someone was trying to claim your birds were theirs but after reading I see it had to be someone who knew your name.

jeepingchick might be right. Those birds have been on the 'puter while you were out. laugh.gif
Dark Angel
that is pretty strange

The caption i read was in english. Is that what you meant or the letter you received was in another language. Says they belong to carrie foster.
LuvMyHarley1
Hmmm, strange indeed....Is there anyway you can find out who, what and why.... tongue.gif
Andie Wan Kenobi

haha its spanish:

thats cute. Well if a friend submitted it, its nice to know that friends are thinking of your babies. either that or the fids were searching on the internet. eventually their gonna start yelling surprise!..lol that or beacuse of them publishers clearing house will show up at your door with a million dollars..lol
GeorgiaOnMyMind
well, the nutriberry thing is very common spanish, common enough that someone who has never even taken a spanish class could write it... so i'm doubting the speaker was foreign.

maybe one your sons? i know chris loves the birds and he may have entered it, though, he seems young to find the website and post the picture... but then, i completely underestimate kids and the computer!

Actually, Chris is very adept at computers (he runs his own website just like his mum biggrin.gif ). BUT, he knows that Lo Lee isn't a Green Cheek, Lo Lee is a Maroon Bellied, so if it was him, he would of gotten her species correct.

I seriously can't think of who could of done it. And there isn't any way to find out. So I guess I am stuck guessing blink.gif

I would drop the parrot chronicles a line and ask them if they knew anything about this mystery.

I know if it were me on the recieving end of this I would not post anything online anymore.

Well, I'm not too worried about it. I run my own website and sell birds, so my name is out there any ways. And to be quite honest, if some one wants to find out your last name, it is pretty easy to do if you know what you're doing.
Animal Quackers
LOL! Who was it that said, "This is getting curiouser and curiouser!"?

I hope you can get to the bottom of the mystery soon Carrie! smile.gif

Anyway, it's neat to see them up there!
AngelaD
LOL at the birds using the computer, etc. biggrin.gif
QPdad
Well, you gotta have some pretty special birds when someone wants to show them off for you like that. Evidently, they weren't after a pat on the back; they just wanted everyone to see those birds.
Alusdra
Very bizarre. But I think the Spanish is a play on 'mi casa es su casa' which as someone said, is a pretty well (over) used Spanish phrase. Like 'yo quiro Taco Bell' or something. Or maybe 'tengo un gato sur mis pantalones' laugh.gif love Blue Streak... (and if I spelled that wrong, sorry... I mix up my Spanish with my French on occasion...)
StephieSue
Carrie~Anne that happened to me too a while back with peanut's pic that won pet of the day at one time. I have no idea how they got it b/c I never submitted it to parrotchronicles.
