I've been wondering since most quakers look pretty much the same if there would be a way to tell them apart? I guess if I could get Oatmeal to say "Oaty Boaty" then I would know I only know of one other quaker named Oatmeal.
Gizmo #1
Yes Gizmo would be hiding in a corner, and he is pretty skinny quaker.
Andie's Mom
Well, good question...I guess I'd have to cough or sneeze and wait to hear Paddie say Here Wicket...Here Wicket...and as far as Ollie goes...I'm not sure...I haven't had him long enough to learn all his quirks yet, so I guess he'd have to stay home....wink.gif
~Wasabi~
Yeah, Wasabi would be saying, "Hi there Fuzzi!" and "Come here Jet!"
Gizmo #1
How bout we say if they werent talking. chances are you wouldn't hear them and they wouldn't be talking with a ton of quakers in their grill-face.
~Wasabi~
Humm, that would make it more difficult. I still think I'd recognize Wasabi's movements and plump bodyshape. Who knows though, it may be harder than I think!
Sandi Kiwis Mom
I think I would know Kiwi. I think Kiwi would get excited being with a bunch of other birds and start squawking.
Frankie's Mom
I definitely believe I would know both Isabelle and Frankie. Their looks are very distinctive. Different body shapes, different postures, different identifying marks and colors ...

LOL, I say that and watch, I would be the one running around frantically to figure it out! rolleyes.gif blink.gif tongue.gif wacko.gif
kalipso2
i don't think i'd be able to pick out Cricket from a crowd. i could maybe identify him by his beak but i wouldn't bet any money on it!
QPdad
I think I would know Willie by sight but I hope I never get tested on that. biggrin.gif
jbl
I think I could pick out Shamrock he is missing a toe nail on his back left foot.
Dark Angel
in re to physical appearance I could tell mine by the feet because one of them has a large dark brown patch on it and of course he is banded as well as microchipped but he would probably also be the only fid in the room screaming 'peters weiners' and 'give me a burp' followed by his rendition of big old manly belch.
Lisa Barnes
Milo doe's the woogie noise. it's something we made up
together. you know how a dog will shake his head and there lips make that funny sound? well i shake my head side to side and make that noise and milo will shake his up and down and make the same noise. it's so funny laugh.gif he does it all the time and will say do woogie noise. i'm pretty sure no one else can do woogie noise. right? as much time as i spend just looking at milo i would hope i could pick him out of a line up but im not all that sure. unsure.gif he came with no band on his leg. sooooo????

good question .
Tara Rose
I def. would be able to pick out Kiwi. If you look close enough at two different quakers you will always find subtle physical differences smile.gif
KerrinKiwi
I would know Kiwi and Pickles because Kiwi would be saying good boy Pickles, I love you Pickles, and Pickles would be blowing kisses at me and Kiwi and and saying pick a boo Kiwi, and I love you! Pickles is skinny and Kiwi is a ham. tongue.gif
Cosmo & Marti's Mom
I could find both I think...mo has a spot she plucks, which results in a feather indentation on her chest and marti has a ligth colored toenail..and just the way she looks i think too.
Gizmo #1
Gizmo would be jealous of the other birds
twizzlebeak
Twiz is flighted so that would narrow the field a bit. His beak is a little wonky from building all the time and I'm sure he would pipe up with, "How's my little sweetheart?" laugh.gif And I think he looks different from a lot of other Quakers. But, like QPdad, I don't want to be tested on it!
Gizmo #1
I hope everyone has at least one things they can distinguish their birds by. What if someone switched birds overnight? Wouild you be able to tell?
kalipso2
sure i could tell Cricket by what he says or even the sound of his voice but taking away his leg band and having 20 quaker face photos in front of me... i'm not so sure if i could pick him out!
Stephannie and Buzz
I would know Buzz anywhere because he barbers his tail feathers so badly sad.gif but at least I could pick him out of a line up!
Olive on the other hand would be totally lost! Shes still too young for any remarkable personality traits...but I am waiting!
~BettyK~
Yep...all I would have to do is stick my finger up and wave "ByeBye" and Bobbie will bob her head and say "Bye Bye" back...oh yea she plucks a little still so I know what it looks like..smile.gif
myiopsitta_monachus
Here's how I'd find Puppy. I'd tie my hair back in a pony-tail and Puppy would be the first one to try to bite me for it. Puppy does NOT allow me to wear my hair back. laugh.gif Nibbler is missing feathers around his neck ..he's a rescue and had a very hard time for the first three years of his life. Those feathers aren't going to grow back. I'd find him in a flash.
sgtcluck
Without knowing his little quirks and noises I don't think that I would be able to pick Morgan out of a crowd. I would definately like to think I could but I know I wouldn't be able to. But if I would ask for kisses I would know him.
Casey's Mom
That's a tricky one. They all look similar! laugh.gif
I want to say that I would recognize her, but I doubt it! I would definitley recognize her "Hi Baby! How are YOOOUUU?" laugh.gif "Where's Casey? Peek-a-boo!" *my laugh!* laugh.gif

But if she didn't talk (which would be highly likely in a crowd of people and birds!) then I probably wouldn't know the difference! wink.gif

I think we have done this before and someone posted pictures of five brids from the site and we all had to figure out who they were... it was a tough game! biggrin.gif We should try it again!
Quakermom
paulie is a pushover lol he'll walk up to you and say good boy and gimmie kiss, and i already know his calls. Between him and Kai i can tell both of them apart. Plus paulie loves to make this kwi-kwi sound while he runs up so..lol and the theres the freeze, linkin park and Hug words..lol
Tari
I would be able to recognize Pooder by his lack of toenails as well as his "Pooder dance". I would hate to test that, though.

Cool ya know if we got pictures and just cropped them down to like just the heads or just the whole bird without back ground I wonder if we would be able to Pick out our own birds?
Some of us should get together and try it.

Oh I think Oatmeal would be the one plucking the other quakers feathers off of thier heads, or at least thats what he does if he gets within a foot of Raja. Or he would be biting every one but me.
Lene
Shrek would chase everyone else away, run to me and say: HELLO, SHREKIE, HELLO SHREKIE! I love him to bits... wub.gif
Yogi's_mom
Yogi has no toenails on the back half of his claws, and he's sporting one lonely tail feather, so I think I'd be able to spot him.

I was also told at our parrot meeting sunday night that he's the smallest quaker parrot another member has ever seen sad.gif

Yogi is little, but he eats well, and isn't skinny by any stretch. His keel bone definitely isn't poking out.

Off topic.. Yogi weighed in today at 84 grams. Does anyone else have a light weight? Do they get bigger as they get older? With him having just one tail feather (and it's not long), he does look like a baby.
LuvMyHarley1
Yep, I'm pretty sure I would know Harley...It's like Twizzlebeak mentioned, Harley's beak is a little wonky too from building with so many sticks and he probably would run all the other quakers away since he is so jealous.... biggrin.gif
Horatio
I am willing to bet I would not know Horatio in a room of Quakers. He doesn't talk except in his cage and when he is essentially alone.

I have a question for those who think they would hear their quakers say something, would the bird do it in a room full of other birds? I wonder if they would speak? (Twiz excepted he is the best talker I know)

The only thing I think would happen for ours, is if Horatio's mummy was there and he was frightened by the birds he would run for protection tongue.gif . He is such a great green chicken.
wilywind
I'd like to think I could but without being put in that situation who knows. His beak being so long would definately make it easier.
Tari
A friend of mine has identical twin girls. Now, identical twins are not common as it is, but these girls are also called mirror twins. One of the girls is right handed and the other is left handed. There are other differences, but only apparent when time is spent with them. However, from birth, my friend has been able to tell the difference right away and has said on several occasions that she has no idea why people can be fooled when they do their "switch" (they actually changed classrooms for a day and no one figured it out until one of the girls forgot to use the opposite hand for writing).

When our family drove down there almost 3 years ago I could tell the difference in their personalities, but it helped having a daughter 6 months younger than them.

The whole purpose of explaining all of this is to make the connection that it's the details in personality and appearance that people notice after spending time with another creature that aid in identification when in a crowd. Now, there's no doubt in my mind that Pooder would act differently with other people around, even though he is socialized well. Put him with other birds of his species, I'm not certain how he would act. I have an idea or two, but I honestly do not know...and to be honest, I really don't want to test it.

But, in everything posted, I have noticed that if we were able to see our qp's in action, then we could find them. But, just pictures might pose a problem.
