It's been almost a year since Tiko came to live with us.

He came with a one word vocabulary. "Ruby". An old remembered name of a long since gone pet dog.

He knew about three fairly static, unchanging whistles as well.

A while ago I started answering his whistles with random whistling notes. He's finally picked upon this and is now free forming his own compositions. Just randomly whistling notes, but they are so like jazz music in thier variety and seeming aimlessness. He's just making stuff up as he goes along, it's so funny. Had me rolling the other night when he just kept going. No two whistles the same.

Right now I'm trying to teach him the same thing but with "La, la, la, laaa." sounds. , or a "Doo, be, do be, Dooo." Frank Sinatra kinda thing.

He's getting to be so funny and creative. I like to let him groove to his own beat.

Aaaw Tiko----sounds like you may be converting your daddy to some good music now....Frank Sinatra?....Yea for Tiko.....

I believe Tiko is just now beginning to feel comfortable in his new home and letting all know what his variety of music is....Sometimes it takes a while and now that he is whistling and doing his thing, sounds like he may have more to come..... smile.gif
Tiko is the African Grey, isn't he?

So when is he going to sign to a record deal? I'm sure he'll be at LEAST as popular as those dogs that bark christmas songs!
