Put some food out for her, she may come down if she's hungry! But someone has to be frantically looking for that sweetheart! I would be!! If you can coax her down, make sure to try to find her parronts! they must be just sick searching for her!
Good luck!

I can't say I have ever seen an Ekkie in my backyard!

Where do you live?
I would put some food out and try to get her down, maybe call someone or a local rescue or something to see if anyone has lost her. Do you have a cage to put under the tree for her to see and maybe she would fly down to it since she doesn't know you? Her parronts must be freaking out!

Good luck!

Maybe some fresh fruit/veggies too, cut up, try repeating step up and see if (boy green/girl red) he/she makes an attempt to come to you. Know anybody with a ladder? It might be afraid of coming down and need someone to go up. Oh poor baby, I bet it is scared! And the parronts are frantic! Please keep us posted!

I hope they learned their lesson and got her wings clipped. Or at the very least have set a new rule wherein the bird must be in the cage BEFORE any outside doors are allowed to be open and posts signs about that rule by all the doors.
SO fantastic that they got her back. I remember when I got my Quaker back after I learned my lesson the hard way. I was laughing and crying and shaking all over I was so happy! Nice save!

i actually saw her fly into the tree because i was sitting outside by my pool it would have been cool had it not been so dramatic for the owners

Wow...a wonderful ending. I know they must have been so relieved to get their baby back. Hopefully as was stated before the parronts learned their lesson and now keep her wings trimmed or at the very least make sure they close all escape routes before allowing her out of her cage.
I'd love to walk outside and find a parrot in my backyard. I was on the phone with my hubby when I read this post, and told him why can't something like that happen to me??? He said he hopes nothing like that ever happens...LOL. His biggest fear is that I'll start finding stray and homeless parrots the way I manage to come across stray dogs.

Great ending! When my dogs run off it's horrible and usually I can keep them in sight... can't imagine with a bird!

I always get bummed that other people find all these animals everywhere and I never do... but probably everyone else who knows me is relieved. (Though when I do find one on occasion, the owner is usually right behind them and/or there's a tag).

LMBO Snugglebutt!! I seem to find my share of the homeless ones too ... have two right now being vetted, as a matter of fact.
I am soooo happy this story had such a nice ending of the Ekkie being reunited with her owners! Great eye for spotting her!
