Hello Everyone,
My baby Libby died at the age of 8 not very long ago. My wife and I are devastated. She was fine and ornery one minute, puffed up panting the next. She died enroute to the hospital. I couldn't make it in time. We had no idea what we were doing when we were raising her, we had the Guide to Quaker Parrots in one hand while drawing up food in a syringe with another. We did fine though. She was a rescue. My gutterball neighboors sold their palm tree ( Quakers here love Canary palms )and my wife and I went out as the men were starting to uproot the tree. They stopped when we called the police and the whole neighborhood was there. We found 6 quakers, they all went to good homes. Many of the other types of birds lost their heat and died after we took them to the seabird sanctuary. She had the best of everything though, and knew nothing but love. I know myself , talked to people, and read all the reasons it could have happened. I only wish I had noticed sooner. She hid being sick very well. She was healthy and had the best of everything so by the time we noticed it was too late. Anyways, I have a new 8 week old baby Quaker! I will post in the appropriate areas.
Thanks.
