The grass IS always greener...

...or is it?

George (Pattie) and Insect (QP) now bunk together in the same cage. At breakfast time, when we put fruity brekky in their cage, they both immediately hurtle to each other's brekky bowls and start eating, always keeping an eye on the other. Then it's a question of who will blink first. As they tuck into each other's brekky, they become more and more agitated as they see the other eating with gusto at the other bowl...

"What is he enjoying so much that I am missing out on?"

*munch, munch*

"His looks tastier than mine!"

At this point, one will hurtle off to the other bowl, chase off the thief eating his brekky and start tucking in again. The other will then go back to the vacant bowl. So now they're both eating the breakfasts intended for them...

But no!

"He seems to be enjoying that a lot. Maybe I should have stayed there. It's obviously better than this one!"

And so they switch again.

Weekends seem especially bad, and they can swap places four or five times before brekky is over!

LOL great story CQ I enjoyed it!!!!
I think humans are the same way just this weekend my husband asked me if I wanted breakfast. I said no...generally food in the morning is not all that appealing to me but then as I sat drinking my coffee in silence he comes to the breakfast table with a huge freshly made belgium waffle smothered in fresh strawberries. As he started to eat it I was going nuts inside I WANTED ONE...he tortured me a bit more before confessing he had decided to just make me one even tho I said no and it was on the pantry counter so I run there and sure enough a huge delicious nummy waffle with strawberries.......needless to say it was soooooooooo sooooooooooooo good.

Loved the story CQ. I could picture the two of them trying to decide which bowl was better hehee.

Impy that was hilarious laugh.gif
I go through the same thing with my husband. I'm not a big daytime eater (I work evening shifts), and my husband will offer to make me something to eat on my days off.

I usually say no thanks, but within minutes of seeing the yummy dish he's eating <grin>. Yup you guessed it hahahaahah. I'm giving him puppy eyes, and usually end up having a bit of it laugh.gif

You do have a way of painting a verbal picture of their antics.

Isn't that the truth...My Paddie (qp) and Wembley (BCC) will do the same thing only they are in separate cages so take turns going in and out of each other's cage, even though they get fed the exact same thing. In the exact same kind of bowls, positioned in exactly the same place in the cage. Wembley is a slow methodical eater where as Paddie Wack is a oh it doesn't matter what I eat first as long as my beak is full. Wembley picks out her favorite stuff first and then slowly works her way around to the rest. So if she see's that there are some of her special goodies in Paddie's bowl....she'll go push Paddie out of the way and eat some of hers Its quite humorous to watch.

Thanks for sharing your story with us CQ...
