Well when you're offered Thousands of dollars for a bird I'd probably sell it too....
Chances are slim but still there that she'll be able to produce more if she keeps the pair that produced it to start with...
While its unique, I still Like the Greens and the blues best!
But thanks for sharing the article Tammy.

WOW! A white quaker. Thats super cool.It kinda looks albino almost. That was a really interesting article. Thank for sharing. I agree with some of the others, i wouldnt have sold it either. I would want to keep the RARE white QP for myself knowing that no one else has anything like it. I do like the green and blue quakers better though. I like a little color in my animals.

Are you guys for real?

I bet she got at least $15,000.00 for that bird!! Yellows sell for over $10,000.00. I would of said 'see ya later' in a heartbeat!
Plus, as Connie said, so long as she has the parents, chances are that she'll get another one some day down the road. And if not, oh well. I'd still be thinking about the cash.

Oh i would have to agree with you there then. If i got 15,000 or more for that white quaker then i would def consider selling it for sure in a heartbeat.

that is amazing!! i didn't realize they came in another coler other then blue and green... think the gray was interesting.....but i like the blue the best! i have a green QP now but blue is definetly my next color to grab. i couldn't believe on that one web page the price was only a few hundred for one. the ones in MI that i have seen for blue was just shy of 900 (not including tax). yikes!

You can...but because the Blue gene is a recessive gene, you have to be careful. You should only breed two blues that are strong birds. Meaning they are a good size and in excellent health with no traces of genetic disease in the background. I know of lots of breeders that breed two Blues together and get wonderful babies.
