My parakeet just had a round of tetracycline and now his nostril has clogged back up. I'm worried he won't make it. I'm taking him to an avian specialist today. My poor Chester...

Oh I hope Chester recovers quickly...sometimes when they are given a certain drug for an extended period of time, they build up a tolerance to it and its just not effective anymore...getting him to an avian vet is a very good idea as they can culture the bug and see what kind of drug will be most effective for it. Hope all goes well with Chester...keep us posted

Thanks, everyone! Chester is gonna be ok. The doc put him back on tetracycline. He said Chester is the right size. I thought his growth was stunted by the infection. He was chirping this morning so I guess all is well. It was sad watching him breathing heavily trying to get some air with only one clear nostril.
