Hi all!
My name is Tim and I just signed up for this discussion list so I thought I'd post a blurb about me. I live in Southwest Florida and have loved Quakers for 20+ years. I had several breeding pairs for a long time. Normals and Blues. While breeding, I always had a pet Quaker in the house. When I made my move from Tampa to Sarasota I sold all but one pair of split-to-blue. While living in Sarasota, a friend presented me with this "little green parrot I found in the bushes". It was a spitfire of a quaker that we named "Zipper" because she made a zip sound like a purse or briefcase being zipped closed. That was 8 years ago. I sold the split pair before my last move to North Port, FL but Zipper stayed a part of the family until her death about a month ago from an invasive tumor on her abdomin.

It is very VERY strange not to hear that chain-saw noise in my house for the first time since the mid-80's. (Trust me, the house is still noisy with 2 Sun Conures but... it's not the same)
Anyway... that's the jist. I just wanted to connect with some quaker people in order to try to fill that void. My life is pretty busy right now so I won't be adding another bird any time soon.

Ahh, I'm so sorry about Zipper. Welcome to the family. We all claim everybody's Quakers as nieces and nephews!

So that you can get to know some green chickens you might want to visit the gallery to look at pictures and watch some videos. Twiz has lots of clips. You might enjoy hearing some Quaker noise!

Tim, don't let Judi fool you. Twiz just might be the best talking quaker in the world. It would definitely be worth your time to check him out.

Welcome Tim! It sounds like you will be a great addition to the flock here and I'll bet you have great stories and plenty of wisdom gathered over your years of being owned by Quakers. Glad you joined! I'm sorry for you loss of Zipper. It's true that once you've been owned by a Quaker you're never the same again.
