I do 20-30 minutes at least twice a day. That doesn't seem like enough but I have a dog I have to crate or put outside because she will eat Tori. I feel bad about both of them.

An hour a day per bird is definitely enough. I let them out at least 2 hours. Dont play the whole time though.

On the weekends my fids are out of their cages almost all day, as long as I'm home. Precious and Isis get to go with me to get my morning coffee at the gas station (they are a hit there, especially when Isis says Thank You!)

During the week, as soon as I walk in the door from work, they are out of their cages if I am going to be home.

So over all, probably guaranteed 2-3 hours a day they are out and able to play and interact with each other ... with ME, I spend some time with each one of them as they let me. Emma is not hand tame, but he is starting to give kisses (and lip BITES! dry.gif ) - he sees the others getting some loving and he wants some too! and Howie chooses not to love on me, but she is at least hand tame ... the others get Mom time at least once or twice a day.

I wish I could let my birds out all the time. sad.gif

When I leave the house, I have to put the fids in their cages, I won't leave them out with the cats! wink.gif But my cats know who is head bird in this house, and it ISN'T them!! They leave the fids alone, but I never trust them if I'm not home!

Well, Pickles isnt home yet, but today I got to spend 2 1/2 hours holding him (at the place where he is being hand fed). It was great! He is so snuggly right now.

The pet birds get about 30 to 45 minutes of one-on-one time. All the birds get about 3 to 4 hours (more on the weekends) of out of cage time a day.

Mine ususally get about 3 hours out on weeknights, and probably 4-6 hours on weekends. The hardest part is making sure they each get their Mom-time! Sometimes it's hard to "rotate" birds! biggrin.gif

On the weekdays Tiki is out as soon as I get home until he goes to bed (approx 2-4 hrs) on weekends if I am not going out he is out all day, doing his own thing building, playing with his toys etc, amoungst some cuddle time/bath time etc. wink.gif

Since Morgan no longer uses a cage he is out 24/7. My husband does not work so he is home all day with Morgan and Teddy (dog). I get home about 6pm and play with Morgan (off and on)if he is not building until he goes to sleep about 8:30pm. Morgan is just a spoiled little bugger.

Well, with my work schedule, the birds time varies from day to day. When I'm home and awake, I open the cages and they get to come out, usually about 2-3 hours a day at least. As far as hands on time, that varies as well with my schedule and their moods. Jojo's a male U2 that's reaching sexual maturity and is prone to bite when he gets worked up. Taz is a blue front amazon, and they're just prone to being evil at times just cause...LOL. They get talked to and interacted with throughout the day when I'm up, and if they're in good moods I'll snuggle with Jojo and watch tv on the couch with him for 30 minutes or so at a time, and Taz gets about 5-10 minutes a couple times a day of hand wrestling, rubs, and snuggles. He's not a real snuggly guy and would rather wrestle than cuddle but he gets real excited real quick and that leads into hard bites, so he gets a few minutes hands on here and there. That's also not counting the random conversations with them and the walk by scritches.

Well my fids are out all day and on my shoulders on and off all day so they have it made I guess lol. But when I go back to work this fall all will change and they will be out from the time I get hime and then have alot of time on shoulders etc. laugh.gif

Well since my house is now FULL of birds...they get interacted with when ever I'm awake...and Home...cuz I'm in the same room as they are...We talk and sing and stuff off and on all day long... They get out of cage time several times a day but once in a while they stay inside for most of the day...1 on 1 time each one gets at least 10 or 15 minutes a couple times a day....Especially when I'm feeding and changing water etc. My guys don't lack for attention, that's for sure. The only time they can't see me is if I go to bed or in to the bathroom... Unless I go outside, and then some of them can still see me then...

Ekko is usually out of his cage most the day. I do try to leave him alone for a couple of hours each day...just so if I had to be gone he would be sort of used to it. So he gets 3 hours in the morning out of cage time, with me or whatever he chooses, then alone locked in cage for a couple hours in the early afternoon then out all late afternoon and evening till bedtime. He tends to want to be held and cuddled several times a day....every couple of hours. Sometimes just for a few minutes, other times up to an hour. He pretty much rules the roost around here!

My birds are out, when I'm home and awake.

I work shiftwork, so there's not really any routine in this house.

I let the birds out 2 at a time. Charlie and Shrek together. Charlie goes on the window boing, and Shrek go on the play gym. A couple of hours later I let Sam and Teeko out, the both go on the Boing in the window. While they're playing on that I have Billy out on my shoulder.

Duke gets out by himself as he's very aggressive to the other birds.

All the birds get one on one time with me as well for at least an hour a day. This includes clicker training time, which is only 5-10 minutes.

Tessa comes in about 6pm if I'm not working evening shift, and the evening is then one on one with her. She a German Shepherd, and she also sleeps in my bedroom at night, even if I'm at work.

i take cricket out for 15 minutes in the morning before i go to work. i feed him his breakfast and talk to him a bit.

when i get home from work i take him out for a half our to feed him dinner and play with him. i put him back in his cage so i can eat dinner but i bring him back out for an hour to an hour and a half while i watch tv or get online. he's usually on my head or picking at the keys of the keyboard.

i tried setting up a perch next to me but he wants nothing to do with it and he won't play on his playgym. he'd rather sit on my head.

so i guess it comes to around 1.5 hours a day. sometimes more, sometimes less.

Since it is summer, Hanzo is basically with me all day. He is only in his cage when I am out, or outside. Or, of course, during our 'food' breaks and he gets to eat and drink and take a nap. smile.gif

So... a lot biggrin.gif

My spoiled brats are pretty much out all day too. That is, until I return to work July 20th. Poppy was in my 'work routine' before my accident, so he should remember. But Maddie has never known being caged all day. I too try to stick them in an hour or two each afternoon just to get them used to it, but I know it will be tough on them when I go bak to work. Then it will be 15 minutes or so in the morning, 1-2 hours at lunch, then 2-3 hours in the evening.

Lucy is out all day as long as I'm home. If she gets up before me she screams "up up up up up" that means she wants to go on her playtop on top of her cage. She's a riot. Her cage is in my room so she gets a lot of Joanna time smile.gif

Petey is out pretty much all day..I have him in my bedroom so I am always in and out giving him kisses and attention. Coco is too little yet for me to feel comfortable with letting him/her out without me being in the room. But, Coco will definatly be out for the majority of the day..

My birds leave their cage at around 8 or 9 am depending on when I get done taking care of all the other animals outside. They stay out till 9 pm which they have deemed their bedtime. And we all just hang out so 11 to 12 hours a day. unless we need to go somewhere but as soon as we get home the cages open and everyone climbs out to play.

ME TOO!

I just "officially" bought him yesterday (He's been on hold), but since he's still at the store being weened, I've been spending about half an hour- and hour each day.

I can't WAIT for him to come home with me! wub.gif

I Take my Qp Limestone out in the morning and play with him for about 20 min before I have to go to work. On the weekend he is out all the time that me or my husband is home. When I get home from work I let him out and play with him some more but he plays on top of his cage with his special out of the cage only toys. But I would say I spend at least an hour a day on one on one time.
Sandi Kiwis Mom
Kiwi and Gidget use to be out of their cages all of the time but since I am planning on going back to work..............I am trying to get them accustomed to the time changes. They still will get to be out a couple or 3 hrs a day. They get to see me all of the time because their cages are in the main area of the house. Then they go to bed in their sleep cages in the other room at nite.
Pecks and Reggies mom
My reggie(qp)and pecks(cockatiel)are awake and out of their cage by 9am and spend all day with me. Spoiled I know but I can't help it. blush.gif
