Is there any way to change the maximum number of smilies in a post?

Sometimes when I write longer posts and I'm using smilies, when I go to post the post, I'll get an error message saying I've used too many emoticons.

I think the setting is 5 or 6 for each post?

Is it possible to up that to more? I know there is the worry about smilie abuse (no matter how bad a smilie is, it should never be abused ). But besides that, is there a reason why we couldn't raise the limit?

I always end up posting more than the maximum 5 and have to take some out!

This has been something I've been meaning to bring up for a long time now, but I kept forgetting. Didn't realize it was something other people were experiencing too

I also wish there were away to have the emoticon's list in the quick reply window as well so I don't have to remember how to make them all...

The emoticons per post has been increased to 15 ...

The only reason for the max being 5 I believe is a default setting. Some would argue that too many emoticons reduces page loads .. I would disagree because they are minimal as compared to the signatures that are loading. Others argue that they are aggravating .. I kind of like them..

The quick reply does allow for the emoticons pop up window. Below the quick reply window there is a check box that says "Enable smilies" .. that must be checked and if you click the link the emoticon pop up opens.

OH hey, thanks Dee, I had no idea about the "enable smilies" even though I have mine checked I didn't realize that if you clicked it the pop up window appeared...HURRAY
