Click to view attachment Just picked this little baby up on Friday and I just had to share some pics. He/She is about 8-9 weeks old, weened and completely lovable! We are already %50 potty trained and can step up like a pro!!! Coco LOVES to be on our shoulders and will burrow into my hair and go to sleep. We are excited..this is our first baby bird ever and I am hoping that he/she does well with the kids. Petey, our Quaker is such a little velociraptor/Godzilla/crotchety old man at times that the kids have a hard time getting close to him. So, Coco, I think will be easier. I'm hoping anyway, we shall see. Nonetheless, I just LOVE this baby already and I can't wait to show off lots of pics!

Oooohhhhhhhhh I love Green Cheeks!!! She is gorgeous! smile.gif

Now, keep in mind that Green Cheeks can tend to be nippy, so LOTS of socialization with the kids.

I have a Green Cheek and she's fabulous. She'll go to anyone (even complete strangers) and she rarely bites. Both my kids handle her on a regular basis and, like Coco, she loooooves to climb around our heads biggrin.gif

You're gonna have SO much fun with this bird. Conures are total clowns (and loooooads of energy!).

Oh I so agree with Carrie and the socialization. Everyone needs to handle her and play with her/him If not you'll have a real nipper. These little clowns Love to play on their backs and what not. I sit about 4 or 5 of them for different people and you can definitely tell the ones that are well socialized and the one that is allowed to get away with things... the ones that are well socialized can be handled by anyone in any manner picked up like a hamster, petted from head to tip of tail and all parts in between. If you have the patience they can be taught tricks easily etc. But just like any other bird, if they bite and can get a dramatic reaction they will do it...and they can get pretty territorial if you don't work with them a lot...

SO have fun with this little bird I think you're all going to just love her/him! Congratulations

Aaawwww......Congratulations! She is so cute!!! I got Shrek when he was 9 months old and he had been handfed, then put in a cage for breeding. But it didn't take me long to get him to step up and now at 14 mos. he will go to either hubby or I but no one else and his little voice when he talks is so cute. So be sure and talk to your little once because they will pick up words and sounds, not as much as a quaker. Enjoy, they are so much fun just to sit and watch because they are so active. BTW they LOVE baths too. Enjoy.
