Monet beats the ever-loving crap out of black raspberries before she eats them, so I got the idea to put her raspberries on a white piece of paper before the mayhem ensued. Looks like Modern Art. Good job Monet...you would do you namesake proud!

My husband brought home our first Starling. He found the poor orphaned baby bird on the cold ground in the warehouse that he works at. If the nest could have been found we would have put him back in it, because it's a myth that the parents will reject the baby if they smell people. The nest could not be found and the poor baby's keel bone was jutting out like a knife. I had heard that they made excellent pets and I was happy to raise him. I fed him the diet recommended by Starlingtalk.com, a very informative website created by Jackie Collins, an expert on Starlings, and he grew up strong. My first Starling is named Cheerio. Cheerio is an artist too, but had already had his fill of berries by the time I got the idea to put paper down. I guess I could take a picture of my stained blue jeans as proof lol. I got my second Starling after reading and posting a lot on the Starlingtalk message board. A juvenile Starling in Ohio needed a home, and for some reason my husband said "Ok." Maybe he was half asleep...but I won't re-question him on it. Monet was originally named Moe, but she seemed much more feminine than that and Moe is a rather dull name for such a spectacular bird anyway. I wasn't certain on the gender so I needed something that could go for both and still have sort of a Moe sound...so Monet it was. Cheerio says, "Cheerio, Cheery eery eery O, you're so cute, you cutie bird, I'm momma's baby, kiss the baby, kiss kiss kiss, *kissie sound*, Come'ere, shoo." Monet says, "Monet, pretty pretty Monet, Pretty pretty princess, give me a kiss, *kissie sound*, good bird, you're gorgeous dahling (with an English accent,) just get in your cage why don't you?" She also whistles the victory theme for Final Fantasy. Cheerio tries to whistle that, but Monet is the only one who ever gets it right. I have been working on a small children's novel about my Starlings..a series of very short stories. If anyone's interested I'll post them here. I may have posted them before..but nobody would boot me off for posting them again. Oh look, I'm rambling...! Sorry!
Oh my, I forgot some of the things Monet says! She also says, "Loki (the naughty cat's name,) LOKI NO!!! Jon (my husband's name,)shoo, No."

That's neat! Does she do that to other berries, she could make multi-colored art!

I'm glad they are at my house. Bird conservationist would have killed them as babies if someone had taken the birds to them. Starlings are non-native. I wish more people knew how wonderful they are.

I agree, you should let her do that with a few different berries. Get some mix of colours going on

What a clever idea! I am loving the artwork! You could even do a series of small prints and hang them around Monet's cage!

You certainly may. I was amazed the first time I saw it!!!

I usually see birds in Modern Art pieces, and it surprises me that I didn't notice that myself. There is one painting at my lawyer's office that I can count seven birds in, though the painting has no 'on purpose' birds at all.

I'm sure someone else could outline it better than I did. I just wanted to illustrate what I was seeing.
What's more, it looks like a baby starling falling from the nest!!
