Wichets cage has these seed guards around it. There is a small gap between the guards and the bottom of the cage that she appears to be looking through. She stands there with her head cocked to one side looking through the gap and screams until I come in the room. So far this only happens in the morning before I have opened the door to the birds room. I close it at night so my cat doesn't get any bright ideas.

On the other hand Wicket is staying on my shoulder for longer periods of time and has started exploring my face and ears and is still breaking my hair off (I am trying to stop this behaviour).

Everything else seems to be ok with Wicket. She is eating well, has lots of energy, eyes and nose is normal looking. Her feathers are in good condition. Feet look fine too.

Could it be Wicket is ready for me to come and open the door, or something to that effect?

when my quaker is anxious to come out, he paces at the bottom of the cage right in front of the door and screams. so it might be that wicket is waiting for you!

my advice would be not to acknowledge that behavior because she will know that is all she has to do to get out of the cage.

Yep, she most likely knows when you're gonna come in and open her cage up. It's all about routine for them, right? smile.gif

For Max, she does something similar. Sometimes when I'm covering her cage, I accidently leave a small opening with the cover, at the bottom of her cage. If I'm not quick enough (quick by her standards) in uncovering her cage, she'll quickly move down to that spot and peek out at me to see what's taking me so long. If she can see me, she'll say 'c'mere!'. And if I don't, then she'll start her squawking...lol

So I'm betting this is what's happening with Wicket smile.gif

I don't cover Bubba but I do keep his sleeping bedroom door closed. I'll hear the first chirp, but let him stay in there for a while until I hear the ringing of his bell. blush.gif Then I know he is ready. I open the door and peak in and he gives me a big GOOD MORNING rolleyes.gif
Gosh I love that little bugger...
