My cockatiel Cooper is our little talker. He makes Buttons look like a mime in comparison. Anyhow, he has this cute, scratchy high voice and says all kinds of cute things, whistles songs, makes kissy noises etc. Now as it happens, I've gone to great lengths to make my birds interact with my hubby and other family members. Cooper has been pretty shy in the past. Just lately however, he will sit on Jeff's shoulder and talk and whistle. I was shocked to death when my dad came over and Cooper did the same thing for him. For me...the one who feeds, waters, scritches and talks to him the most... he says exactly NADA. Nothing. Zip. Zilch. What is up with that? It's just not fair. I love to hear him talk and whistle. It makes my heart happy when his little voice pops up with some remark (recently he's learning "walk the plank"). Does anyone know why he won't talk to me but he will to not only Jeff but even my dad, who is a virtual stranger to Coop? Grrrrr.
